An innovative approach to lightweight design in linear motion technology enables higher dynamics through significant weight reduction. In addition, the new light rail and block can be freely combined with conventional built elements.
New light weight LM Guide from THK with hollow rail and aluminium block
The new LM Guide Light features a cold drawn hollow rail and an aluminum block in hybrid design. The raceways are made from the same hardened steel as used in the conventional model, ensuring almost the same service life. Savings in weight of approx. 40% can be achieved in comparison to the conventional guide (calculated for a 1000 mm rail length fitted with one block). The reduction of the moving mass can be used very effectively for higher machine dynamics and is enhanced by the integrated caged ball technology with smooth motion even under high-speed operation. |

Interchangeability
A special feature of the new guide is the interchangeability of the lightweight elements with the conventional version SSR. Standard blocks can be used on the hollow rail also suitable for rail travel with fixed block. The aluminium blocks can also be used on a conventional rail, in order to reduce the weight in light load applications.
The new light LM Guide from THK is available in the sizes SSR15XW, SSR20XW and SSR25XW.
